Abhinav never molested me, but made inappropriate remarks: Shweta's daughter
Yesterday, media outlets reported that TV actress Shweta Tiwari has filed a police complaint against husband Abhinav Kohli, accusing him of domestic violence and molesting her daughter, Palak. Consequently, Abhinav was apparently interrogated for four hours, and then arrested. Amid all this fiasco, Shweta has chosen to remain mum, but Palak has spoken out, giving a rundown of what actually has happened.
Shweta was crying, shouting while narrating her ordeal, onlookers said
Shweta, best known for role in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, was spotted filing the FIR at Samta Nagar Police Station in Kandivali. She was accompanied by her mother and Palak. Onlookers said that Shweta was crying and shouting when she narrated her ordeal to the cops. "Abhinav was arrested on Sunday, and produced before the court yesterday (Monday)," a police official reportedly has said.
Palak wrote an elaborate post on Instagram, issues clarification
While there has been no word from either of the parties involved, Palak, Shweta's daughter from her first marriage to actor Raja Chaudhary, has revealed what actually happened. In an elaborate post on Instagram, the 19-year-old said that it was she, and not her mother who was the victim of domestic violence, and that Abhinav has never "physically molested me, or touched me inappropriately."
He did persistently make inappropriate and disturbing remarks, she says
"However, he did persistently make inappropriate and disturbing remarks the impact of which is only known to my mother and I, and if any woman from any walk of life were to hear them she would be greatly embarrassed and provoked too," she wrote yesterday.
I've been victim of domestic abuse NOT my mother: Palak
She started the post by thanking "everyone who's reached out to express their concern and support," and then proceeded by saying, "Secondly, I'd like to address and clarify a few things out of my own rectitude." She continued how "media doesn't have the facts and they never will," while clarifying that she was "on multiple occasions a victim of domestic abuse NOT my mother."
This is someone's household you're writing about, 19-year-old lashes out
In the next few lines, Palak expressed anger at media for spreading the rumors even if they "don't know the truth of what goes on behind closed doors or how much fortitude my mother has shown in both her marriages." "This is someone's household you're writing about," she said, before asking all not to "paint someone else's image through your biased, misinformed views."
Abhinav has never molested me, or touched me inappropriately: Palak
Further in her post, Palak clarified that, "Abhinav Kohli has never physically molested me, or touched me inappropriately." "However, he did persistently make inappropriate and disturbing remarks. Words which would question the standing dignity of any woman, which you wouldn't expect to hear from any man, especially not your father," her post read. She also hailed her mother for being "the MOST self sufficient."
"She never required or had a man provide for her"
"Today as a proud daughter, I'm here to tell you that my mother is the most respectable individual that I've ever come across, the MOST self sufficient," she said. "One who's never required or even had a man provide for her and has always taken the social standing of a "man" in both the families that we've been a part of," Palak proudly highlighted.
It's disturbing for me as a father, Raja speaks out
Meanwhile, her biological father, Raja has said that he has "been in touch with my daughter and checked on her this morning. I learned about it through media. She told me not to worry and that she's fine. It's disturbing for me as a father."
