SRK was a rock-star till I sang for him: Abhijeet
Playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who is known for his scathing attacks on B-towns bigwigs, is back in the headlines for his fight with Shah Rukh Khan. The singer, who had sung numerous songs for SRK, has now revealed why he stopped singing for him. Abhijeet even took dig at King Khan's stardom and said that SRK was a rock star till he sang for him.
I made superstars with my voice, says Abhijeet
While attacking SRK, Abhijeet said that he has made superstars with his voice. He also mentioned that after he stopped singing for SRK, the superstar came 'down' to songs like 'Lungi Dance' from 'Chennai Express'. "Till the time I sang for Shah Rukh Khan, he was a rock star. When I stopped singing for him, he came down to Lungi Dance," Abhijeet stated.
It all started with SRK's 'Main Hoon Na'
Talking about the reason behind his fight with King Khan, Abhijeet said that it began during SRK's 2004 release 'Main Hoon Na'. Abhijeet was upset with SRK for not giving the due respect to singers. "In 'Main Hoon Na', they showed everyone from a spot boy to everyone else, but the singers. The same thing happened with 'Om Shanti Om'," he added.
Abhijeet's self-respect was hurt
Abhijeet was quite upset with SRK and his team and admitted that this negligence did hurt his self-respect. "It was my voice. But it wasn't shown anywhere. The self-respect was hurt. Why should I ask them to add my name? The problem is I don't lack anything. So why should I ask for this," a miffed Abhijeet said.
Any scope of patch up?
Abhijeet mentioned that he is willing to let bygones be bygones if SRK apologizes to him. He even referred to Farah Khan's husband Shirish Kunder's Twitter rant on SRK. Abhijeet said that if SRK can be friends with someone who tweeted nasty things about him, then he should have no problem with a simple man like him. SRK, are you listening?
