'Loveyatri' controversy: Aayush Sharma feels the objection is unnecessary
Aayush Sharma's debut movie 'Loveyatri' has become the controversy's favorite child these days, owing to its title. Various Hindu fringe groups have claimed that the title hurts the religious sentiments and distorts the essence of Navratri. While the name of the movie has created a lot of furor, Aayush feels that the objection is unnecessary as 'Loveyatri' is about celebrating love and culture.
Does 'Loveratri' really hurt religious sentiments?
The VHP, who was upset with the makers, stated that the title hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindu community as it skews the name of Navratri. Notably, the movie has been facing protests since the trailer was launched. In fact, the makers were forced to change the name of the movie which was earlier named 'Loveratri'. Does it really denigrate Navratri, though?
Bihar court also ordered FIR against Salman, Aayush and others
In fact, an FIR was also ordered by a Bihar court against producer Salman Khan, Aayush Sharma and others for not just hurting the religious sentiments but also spreading vulgarity. The makers later changed the name of the movie from 'Loveratri' to 'Loveyatri'.
Changing the title was painful, says Aayush
Talking about changing the original title, Aayush said it was quite disheartening for him and the entire team. He said that the makers didn't want to instigate a controversy. Instead, they had made a movie to celebrate love and culture. "We wanted a film that connects with most people. There was an unnecessary conversation and objection happening over it," he added.
Is the controversy adding to movie's publicity?
Aayush also stated that he doesn't understand the reason behind the furor as 'Loveyatri' doesn't promote vulgarity at all. "The film will not hurt anyone's sentiments. There is no double meaning dialogue in the film, it only talks about culture," he said. The newcomer also said that he isn't hungry for such a publicity for 'Loveyatri' and it won't do any favor to him.
