Is Aamir Khan planning to quit acting? Here's the truth
What's the story
As is common knowledge, Aamir Khan is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood.
And while we can never get enough of his perfection, there have been rumors about his retirement plans for a while now.
However, Aamir cleared the air and stated that he would quit acting only after becoming a full-fledged filmmaker.
Here's what he means.
Plans
Film-making is exciting, but want to focus on acting
Recently, Aamir revealed that he was always inclined towards film-making.
And when he directed Taare Zameen Par in 2007, which revolved around a dyslexic student and an unconventional teacher, his love for direction deepened.
But, Aamir said that while film-making is exciting he wants to focus on acting.
"I've been in love with film-making and acting and I can't alienate the two," he added.
Statement
'I am holding back the director inside me'
Furthermore, Aamir stated he wants to focus on acting at the moment, and he would quit it after he becomes a full-fledged filmmaker.
In fact, he admitted holding back the director in him.
"The moment I become a full-fledged filmmaker I will stop acting. Right now, I don't want to stop acting, that's why I am holding back the director inside me," Aamir emphasized.
Producer
Making money is not the agenda for producer Aamir
Apart from being a filmmaker, Aamir sometimes dons the producer's hat as well. In the past, he has backed movies like Lagaan, Secret Superstar, Dangal, etc.
Talking about the same, Aamir maintained that making money is not his priority.
"Creativity is our agenda. Till the time we don't get a good script, we don't make it into a film," he mentioned.
Hollywood plans
Any Hollywood calling for Aamir?
Interestingly, most of the Bollywood actors have a major fascination with Hollywood. However, this isn't the case with our Mr. Perfectionist.
"For me, what's important is what the film is about and what it's trying to say. It should excite me as an actor. If someone from Japan or Africa offers me something and if I get excited, I 'll do it," he clarified.
