Aamir speaks about 'tough emotional phase' on Kapil Sharma's show
Bollywood icon Aamir Khan, famous for not attending award shows, promotional events, and talk shows, made an exception by appearing on The Great Indian Kapil Show on Saturday. Though host-comedian Kapil Sharma has been hosting chat shows since 2013, Khan never graced the guest's couch. Speaking to Sharma, Khan revealed that this happened due to his personal struggles and challenges.
Khan battled a 'tough emotional phase,' but show helped him
Khan candidly spoke about a challenging emotional period in his life. "It's been 11 years, but I am attending it for the first time because my last two to two-and-a-half years have been very tough," he confessed. "I was going through a tough emotional phase. During this time, I watched comedy with Kapil and it supported me a lot. You guys made me laugh when I was low and depressed. That is when I felt I should come here."
Khan on his movies failing and his rapport with kids
During the episode, which also featured performances by Sunil Grover and Krushna Abhishek, Khan discussed various aspects of his life and career. He openly admitted to avoiding award shows and acknowledged that his recent films (his last release was Laal Singh Chaddha) had not performed well at the box office. Interestingly, while many industry colleagues seek his guidance and wisdom for their children, Khan revealed that his own children "never take his advice."
Take a look at Khan's upcoming ventures
Khan is gearing up for his return to the silver screen with two upcoming projects. He is set to star in RS Prasanna's Sitaare Zameen Par, alongside Genelia D'Souza. Additionally, Khan will produce his first collaboration with Rajkumar Santoshi's Lahore: 1947, featuring Sunny Deol in the lead role. Recently, Khan backed Laapataa Ladies—a comedy-drama helmed by his ex-wife Kiran Rao. LL is now streaming on Netflix.
