Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for Lal Singh Chaddha, is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation for the movie, in which he would play the titular role. Reportedly, Mr. Perfectionist will be shedding 20kgs to play the young Lal Singh. For this, Aamir has been put on a special diet of sabzi roti and protein to get that perfect look. Here's more.
Aamir to undergo rigorous training for 'Lal Singh Chaddha'
"Aamir follows a special diet consisting of sabzi roti and some protein intake. He will also undergo rigorous training after September for his look. As of now, Aamir is involving himself in the overall creative aspects of the project," a source told Hindustan Times.
Aamir was the first choice for 'Forrest Gump' remake
To note, Lal Singh Chaddha will be the official remake of 1994 release Forrest Gump, and Aamir will step into Tom Hanks' shoes. Interestingly, for the original makers of the movie, Aamir was the first choice, and they gave the remake rights after the 54-year-old actor initiated the talks. "It took more than five years to finalize the deal," the source added.
'Forrest Gump' makers had heard good things about the actor
"The makers have heard good things about India's one of the finest actors, Aamir and his knack for perfection in movie-making. Despite good offers earlier, makers decided to give its remake rights to the production who brings Aamir involved in the project," the source revealed.
'Lal Singh Chaddha' might feature 1984 anti-Sikh riots
Reportedly, Lal Singh Chaddha will showcase India's growth as a nation, and thus will apparently include instances like the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. According to media reports, the horrifying riots will play an important part in the plot of the movie. Lal Singh Chaddha is also said to highlight the current political events, with a special focus on the current government of the country.
Aamir-starrer will recreate scenes with personalities, like 'Forrest Gump' did
Lal Singh Chaddha will also have scenes in which Aamir's character meets several eminent personalities as Tom did in the original, and for recreating those the team's relying on VFX. "It will be a reference for the world to see what happened in India in the past few years like how Forrest Gump did with reference to the US," a source told Deccan Chronicle.
Aamir to romance Kareena again after seven years
Apart from Aamir, the movie will also star Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead. Notably, it will mark their reunion after Talaash (2012). Reportedly, Aamir will be seen playing the role of a Sikh and will sport a turbaned look. The lead pair will also be seen in four different looks in the movie, which begins in the 1970s and ends in the present time.
