Nimrat Kaur is an Indian film and theater actor and a print model. Hailing from Rajasthan, she studied B.Com (Hons.) in commerce at Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. After completing her degree, she moved to Mumbai and became a print model. In 2012, she started working as a theater actress with the play 'Baghdad Wedding'. She worked with famous theater directors, including Sunil Shanbag and Manav Kaul. In 2004, she appeared in two music videos, 'Tera Mera Pyar' and 'Yeh Kya Hua', and later did a few commercials, too. Kaur's debut in Hollywood was marked with the release of 'One Night with the King' in 2006. Six years later, in 2012, she made her Bollywood debut with the movie 'Peddlers', which was even screened at Cannes Film Festival. In 2013, her breakthrough in the industry came with the film 'The Lunchbox' opposite Irrfan Khan. It became her second movie to be premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. She has also appeared in the 2016 Hindi film 'Airlift' and popular American TV shows like 'Homeland' (2014 and 2020) and 'Wayward Pines' (2016).
