Right on the first day of this month, several promising movies like Malayalam film Bheeshma Parvam and romantic magnum opus Radhe Shyam, among others, hit their respective digital platforms. 'Cobalt Blue': Hitting Netflix on April 2
Directed by famous author/playwright Sachin Kundalkar, Cobalt Blue is getting dropped on Netflix on Saturday. Starring Prateik Babbar, Neelay Mehendale, Anjali Sivaraman, Shishir Sharma, Anant Joshi, and Geetanjali Kulkarni, the film is based on Kundalkar's highly acclaimed 2006 novel by the same name. Mehendale and Sivaraman play siblings who fall in love with their charming paying guest (Babbar), thereby unsettling every familial equation.
'Dasvi': Releasing on Netflix, JioCinema on April 7
After Ludo, The Big Bull, Bob Biswas, Abhishek Bachchan is gearing up for his next OTT release, Dasvi. Also starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Nimrat Kaur, the social comedy is slated to release on Netflix and JioCinema on April 7. Directed by debutant Tushar Jalota, the film has been produced by Dinesh Vijan via his Maddock Films, Shobhna Yadav, and Sandeep Leyzel.
'Gullak 3': Hits SonyLIV on April 7
Gullak 3 is our third entry. It is considered as one of the most heartwarming web shows of the present time and for this edition, too, the Mishra family will return with the "gullak" of their fair share of day-to-day tales and nostalgic anecdotes once more. Directed by Palash Vaswani, it stars Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Harsh Mayar, and Sunita Rajwar.
'Abhay 3': Arriving on ZEE5 on April 8
Abhay, which marked Bollywood actor Kunal Kemmu's digital debut, will drop its third season next Friday in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Directed by Ken Ghosh, the crime thriller co-stars Asha Negi, Vidya Malvade, and Vijay Raaz. Kemmu plays the role of SP Abhay Pratap Singh, while Negi is Sonam Khanna, a news reporter and Singh's wife. Abhay 3 will be of eight episodes.
'All the Old Knives': Coming on Prime on April 8
Hollywood film All the Old Knives occupies the fifth place. Having stellar actors like Chris Pine, Thandiwe Newton, Laurence Fishburne, and Jonathan Pryce in its cast, the thriller hits Amazon Prime Video and some select theaters on April 8. Pine and Newton play former lovers and CIA agents Henry Pelham and Celia Harrison, respectively. It has been directed by Danish filmmaker Janus Metz Pedersen.
'Gaalivaana': Releasing on ZEE 5 on April 14
Gaalivaana, a Telugu film, sits on the sixth place. Backed by BBC Studios India and NorthStar Entertainment, the film marks the former's entry into the premium scripted regional market of India. The Indian adaptation of One Of Us, a BBC modern thriller, Gaalivaana stars Radikaa Sarathkumar, Sai Kumar, Chandini Chowdary, Nandini Rai, Chaitanya Krishna, Thagubothu Ramesh, Saranya Pradeep, and Ashritha Vemuganti, among others.
'Mai': Hits Netflix on April 15
Mai rounds up the list. Starring TV actor Sakshi Tanwar, the show will follow Sheel Chaudhary's (Tanwar) journey as she gets entrapped in a world of crime, corruption, and violence. Backed by Clean Slate Filmz, it has been created and helmed by Atul Mongia. Anshai Lal is a co-director of Mai. Raima Sen, Seema Pahwa, and Prashant Narayan form the rest of the cast.
