'Jaat': 8 female actors enter action territory with Sunny Deol
What's the story
In a break from his usual solo action films, Bollywood actor Sunny Deol will be accompanied by eight female actors in his next film Jaat.
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the movie stars Deol as an ordinary man taking on societal norms.
The ensemble cast includes Saiyami Kher and Regina Cassandra, among others, who will share screen space with Deol in this action-packed thriller.

'Jaat' to feature female actors in action roles
Apart from Deol, the film will also feature Zarina Wahab in an "emotionally powerful role," per Mid-Day.
The other female actors—Kher, Cassandra, Bandhavi Sridhar, Moumita Pal, Vishika Kota, Praneeta Patnaik, Doulath Sulthana, and Ayesha Khan—will be seen in action avatars alongside Deol.
An insider revealed that director Malineni envisioned these women as courageous fighters equal to the hero.
"These actors will be seen in fierce avatars performing hand-to-hand-combat using guns and taking on baddies in the action sequences."
Production update
'Jaat' filming underway in Hyderabad
The production of Jaat started in June 2024 in Hyderabad. Deol is currently busy with Border 2 after wrapping up most of his scenes for Jaat.
The director is now shooting with the leading ladies at sets erected in Ramoji Film City and outdoor locations in Aziz Nagar and Krishna Nagar.
"Currently, Praneeta is filming her portions. Sunny is expected to join the unit next month for a patch shoot," added the source.

'Jaat' to release in 5 languages on April 10
Jaat is scheduled to hit the screens on April 10 in five languages- Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil.
The film also stars actors Randeep Hooda and Vineet Kumar Singh in key roles.
This multilingual release plan showcases the director's ambition to take his action extravaganza to a wider audience across various parts of India.
