5 top OTT series/movies to look out for in March
Even though most of the theaters are functioning in full capacity in the country, thanks to COVID-19 making a retreat, makers of many films and series are still opting to take out their products in the OTT space. In this month, many content-driven shows, films, and series are releasing across various streaming giants. We list the top five that shouldn't be missed.
'Rudra: The Edge of Darkness' hits Disney+ Hotstar on Friday
The first entry in this list is Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness. Led by Ajay Devgn, it is the official Indian adaptation of the popular British drama series, Luther, headlined by Idris Elba. Esha Deol, Raashii Khanna, and Atul Kulkarni round up Rudra's cast. The psychological drama has been directed by Rajesh Mapuskar. All its six episodes will hit Disney+ Hotstar on March 4.
'Maaran': Will release on Disney+ Hotstar on March 11
Next up is Maaran. The Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan-led investigative thriller is gearing up for an OTT premiere on March 11. Written and directed by Karthick Naren, it features Dhanush as a gritty journalist, who is adamant to report the truth and expose the big shots. Co-starring Samuthirakani and Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, it has music by GV Prakash. Maaran is a Disney+ Hotstar outing.
'Anamika': Sunny Leone-led series hits MX Player on March 10
We also have Anamika, a web series that hits MX Player on March 10. Directed by Vikram Bhatt (Ghulam, Raaz), Anamika will have Sunny Leone in the titular character of a special agent who has gone rogue. The spy thriller will feature Sonnalli Seygall, Ayaz Khan (as Leone's husband), Rahul Dev, Samir Soni, and Shehzad Shaikh in other pivotal roles.
'Jalsa': Premieres on Amazon Prime Video on March 18
Jalsa, featuring Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah in the lead roles, is our fourth entry. It will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from March 18. Directed by Suresh Triveni, the Hindi film is reported to be a social drama-thriller narrating a tale of class differences in society. It co-stars Manav Kaul (Balan's Tumhari Sulu co-actor), Rohini Hattangadi, and Iqbal Khan, among others.
'The Adam Project': Set for a Netflix premiere next Friday
The much-awaited The Adam Project rounds up this list. Slated to hit Netflix on March 11, the sci-fi movie comes from the stable of Free Guy director Shawn Levy. It features Mark Ruffalo, Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner, and Zoe Saldana, among others. It's about Adam (Reynolds), who travels back in time to seek help from his younger version to confront their late father (Ruffalo).
