'Jhund' to 'RRR': 5 much-awaited films releasing in March 2022
The year 2022 has seen six Fridays till now, but only one Hindi film has hit the theaters so far. That's because stakeholders associated with upcoming movies wanted to take out their projects once the COVID-19 restrictions eased up. While high-budget films like Valimai and Gangubai Kathiawadi complete February's release list, March has an interesting line-up of movie releases, too. Take a look.
'Jhund': Amitabh Bachchan-led sports drama first to arrive
Amitabh Bachchan-led Jhund is set to hit theaters on March 4. Directed by Sairat helmer Nagraj Manjule, the biographical sports film will follow the life of Vijay Barse (Bachchan), a Nagpur resident and founder of NGO Slum Soccer. Rinku Rajguru, one of the lead actors in Sairat, will also appear in the film. The National Film Award-winning duo of Ajay-Atul has composed the music.
'The Kashmir Files': Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri-directorial hits theaters next
The Kashmir Files (TKF), the second part of the trilogy directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, will release on March 11. The other films of the three-part series are The Tashkent Files (2019) and The Delhi Files (upcoming). TKF stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, and Puneet Issar. It will reportedly deal with Kashmiri Hindus and their experiences during the 1990s exodus.
'Radhe Shyam': This period drama will release on March 11
The Kashmir Files will be engaged in a head-on clash with Radhe Shyam, as the latter will release on March 11, too. Radhe Shyam, featuring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, has been written and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar. It will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. In the film, Prabhas plays a fortune-teller named Vikramaditya and Hegde plays a doctor.
'Bachchan Pandey': Akshay Kumar will return to screens this Holi
Next, Bachchan Pandey is getting a premiere on March 18 (Holi). The film, inspired by the Tamil movie Jigarthanda, will see Akshay Kumar as a gangster who aspires to be an actor. Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon will play a journalist who wants to be a feature film director. Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, and Pankaj Tripathi round up the cast. Sajid Nadiadwala has bankrolled this film.
'RRR': Jr. NTR-Ram Charan starrer releases on March 25
SS Rajamouli's 12th feature film directorial, RRR, will finally hit cinema halls on March 25. For now, the period drama, starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, has no competition at the box office. Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn—making their Telugu film debut—and Shriya Saran will be seen in cameo roles in RRR. Renowned artist MM Keeravani has composed its melodies.
