5 South Indian actors who will debut in Bollywood soon
Since years, we have seen crossovers between the South Indian Cinema and Bollywood. Actors from both the industries have worked in one another's films and some like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Dhanush have left their signature marks in both. In the upcoming months, many South Indian actors are making their Bollywood debut. Let us take a look at the top five.
Naga Chaitanya: 'Laal Singh Chaddha'
Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya, son of Nagarjuna Akkineni, is all set to make his debut in Bollywood with a brief appearance in the upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha. The film has Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in main roles. Directed by Advait Chandan, the movie is the official Hindi remake of Forrest Gump and is slated to hit the theaters on August 11.
Vijay Deverakonda: 'Liger'
Liger is next. The pan-India film marks the Bollywood debut of popular Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda. It stars Ananya Panday, boxing champion Mike Tyson, Ronit Roy, and Ramya Krishna in other pivotal roles. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the action-packed entertainer will release on August 25. Besides this, Deverakonda has another pan Indian project titled JGM, which again will be helmed by Jagannadh.
Rashmika Mandanna: 'Mission Majnu'
Rashmika Mandanna, who turned 26 on Tuesday, is set to enter the big, bad world of Bollywood with Mission Majnu. The spy thriller film has Sidharth Malhotra in the principal role. It will get a theatrical premiere on June 10 clashing directly with Vicky Kaushal-led Govinda Naam Mera. Apart from Mission Majnu, Mandanna has another Hindi project titled Goodbye, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan.
Vijay Sethupathi: 'Mumbaikar'
Bollywood film Mumbaikar, directed by Santosh Sivan, will mark the maiden Hindi outing of Vijay Sethupathi. Also starring Vikrant Massey, the film's release date has not been officially announced yet. However, hearsay has that Mumbaikar will hit the theaters in May. Sethupathi will also feature in another Bollywood project, Merry Christmas, co-starring Katrina Kaif. The Sriram Raghavan-directorial will premiere on December 23.
Nayanthara: Reported to play female lead in SRK-Atlee's film
Lady superstar Nayanthara rounds up the list. Now, it has not been officially confirmed yet, but she might make her Bollywood debut opposite King Khan. Rumors suggest that Nayanthara will play the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in his upcoming film, which is being directed by Kollywood filmmaker Atlee. To note, this yet-to-be-titled project will also mark Atlee's first Bollywood venture.
