After 'Sadak 2', Mahesh Bhatt should re-direct these 5 movies
On his 70th birthday, Mahesh Bhatt announced 'Sadak 2' with daughters Pooja-Alia, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur. The movie will be the re-direction of his iconic directorial 'Sadak' and we all are excited to have Bhatt Saab back on the director's chair after two decades. But apart from 'Sadak', we also want him to re-direct these five classics with a new cast.
Saaransh
Bhatt Saab gave our lives a new meaning with his 1984 directorial 'Saaransh' which marked the Bollywood debut of Anupam Kher. The story revolved around the plight of an elderly couple who were dealing with the loss of their only son. The way he captured the struggle of the couple and their fight with life made 'Saaransh' one of the cult classics of Bollywood.
Daddy
This 1989 release was a movie that made everyone emotional about their father. 'Daddy' was a story of a young girl, living with her grandparents, who accidentally gets to know about her father, an alcoholic. It is an emotional journey of a father and a daughter and is said to be Bhatt's autobiographical story about his battle with alcoholism. It is a must watch!
Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin
Who didn't dream of having an adventurous life back in 90s like Pooja Bhatt in 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin'? Inspired by Frank Capra's 'It Happened One Night', Bhatt Saab gave us a timeless, romantic movie before DDLJ. DHKMN was the story of a rich, run-away girl, a luckless reporter and their quirky journey on the way of love. It was released in 1991.
Zakhm
The 1998 release 'Zakhm' is considered to be one of Bhatt's most powerful movies, it dealt with the sensitive issue of communal harmony. 'Zakhm' featured Pooja Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Kunal Khemmu and Nagarjuna in key roles. Set at the backdrop of Hindu-Muslim riots, this emotional drama moved everyone and it reminded us how hatred has divided us on the basis of religion.
Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke
And of course we can't miss Bhatt's another classic 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke' on this list. Starring Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla in the lead with three kids, it was a feel-good movie which never fails to bring a smile on your face. Released in 1997, HHRPK is a timeless rom-com that made us believe in the value of unity and family.
