5 upcoming Marvel movies gearing up for release in 2022
As part of Phase Four, the Marvel Cinematic Universe or MCU has released four films: Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, and Spider-Man: No Way Home till now. All, barring Eternals, did good commercially and critically. In the next few months, Marvel has a lot lined up for release. Let us discuss what all are premiering in 2022.
'Morbius': Hits theaters on April 1
We will start with Morbius. Starring Jared Leto as Michael Morbius, the Sony-backed antihero movie based on the Marvel character is gearing up for a release on April 1. In the film, Michael Keaton also will reprise his role as the Vulture. Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Morbius has Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson, in the cast.
'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness': May 6 release
Next up is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The sequel to Doctor Strange (2016) will release on May 6. Apart from Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), we will also see the characters of Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Professor Charles Xavier of X-Men (Sir Patrick Stewart), and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), among others. Sam Raimi is at the helm.
'Thor: Love And Thunder': Dropping on July 8
Thor: Love and Thunder is the third entry in this list. The Taika Waititi-directed superhero film has a stellar cast including Chris Hemsworth (Thor), alongside Christian Bale (Gorr the God Butcher), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Chris Pratt, Natalie Portman (Jane), Jaimie Alexander, Dave Bautista, and Karen Gillan. This film is the sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and hits the theaters on July 8.
'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)': Coming on October 7
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) sits on the fourth place. Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, the computer-animated superhero film is the first installment of the two-part sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). It is slated to release on October 7, 2022. Shameik Moore, Oscar Isaac, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, and Issa Rae have lent their voices.
'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever': Slated to release on November 11
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever rounds up the list. Sequel to the Oscar-winner Black Panther, which starred the late Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is poised for a November 11 release. Ryan Coogler returns to helm this part, which stars Danai Gurira (Okoye), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Daniel Kaluuya (W'Kabi), Winston Duke (M'Baku), Lupita Nyong'o (Nakia), Florence Kasumba (Ayo), and Angela Bassett (Ramonda), among others.
