5 films you can watch over weekend on OTT platforms
The weekend is here! This is when we make a list of movies we want to watch over the next two days. This week, OTT platforms are mostly streaming films that have seen theatrical outings but there are also some direct-to-OTT releases. Without wasting much of your time, here's a list of the top five movies that you can watch on OTT this weekend.
'Gangubai Kathiawadi'
After having a successful theatrical run, Alia Bhatt-led Gangubai Kathiawadi finally hit the digital screens on April 26. Streaming giant Netflix is premiering the Hindi biopic following its big-screen debut on February 25. The digital premiere was initially planned for March, but since the film was performing exceptionally well at the box office, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial's OTT release was pushed to April.
'Mishan impossible'
Telugu thriller Mishan Impossible starring Taapsee Pannu hit the theaters on April 1. The film started streaming on Netflix on April 29, exactly four weeks after its theatrical release. Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya director Swaroop RSJ has helmed the film. Pannu plays a police officer and the film revolves around three children, who go on an adventure to nab the criminal mastermind, Dawood Ibrahim.
'The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes'
On April 27, Netflix released a documentary on Marilyn Monroe's death, titled The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes. Directed by Emma Cooper, the documentary revisits Monroe's unexpected and tragic death in 1962 after more than six decades. It is claimed by the film's makers that the documentary has tapes of several unheard conversations that uncover the star's last days.
'365 Days: This Day'
365 Days: This day, a romantic erotic drama, was released on Netflix on April 27. Laura and Massimo are back together in this sequel to 365 Days. Directed by Barbara Bialowas, the film follows the life of the couple as their relationship begins to get complicated. Michele Morrone, Anna Maria Sieklucka, Magdalena Lamparska, Simone Susinna, and Otar Saralidze play pivotal roles in the film.
'King Richard'
In case you missed King Richard last weekend, you can give it a watch this time around. The Oscar-winning film started streaming on Amazon Prime Video on April 15. Starring Will Smith, it hit Indian theaters on March 25. The sports biopic directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green follows the life of tennis superstar siblings Venus and Serena Williams and their doting father Richard Williams.
