5 interesting facts about this year's SAG Awards
What's the story
The prestigious Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards 2022 returned to its live, in-audience format this year and the event was held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday.
The best of television and big screen talents were honored with the coveted award.
Some records were set and some historic moments were made.
Here are five interesting facts about this year's awards.

Troy Kotsur became first deaf actor to win individual prize
The 28th edition of the event marked a lot of firsts.
Like, CODA, an Apple TV+ film, became the first movie with a mostly deaf cast to take home the SAG Award.
Also, cast member Troy Kotsur created history by becoming the first deaf actor to win an individual prize (Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role).

'Squid Game' took home 3 awards, including Best Actor trophies
Speaking of historical wins, Netflix's groundbreaking Korean series Squid Game took home three trophies last night.
The cast picked up the Outstanding Action Performance as a Stunt Ensemble honor, alongside two Best Actor awards.
Lead star Lee Jung-Jae won in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series category, with model/actor Jung Ho-yeon picking up the Actress award in the same category.

Incredible feats achieved by 'Squid Game' stars
Notably, Lee was the first Asian man to bag a SAG nod and luckily he even secured a win.
There is a catch in Jung's legendary victory as well.
She became the only second female actor of Asian/Korean descent to nab an individual SAG Award, following Sandra Oh.
Also, Squid Game became the first non-English-language series and the first Korean series to win here.

While the evening saw several cast reunions, there was an extra special reunion. Cast members of the record-breaking musical Hamilton—Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., and Daveed Diggs—took the stage to open the award ceremony. Aside from their light-hearted introduction, the trio also presented an award.
