For their Bollywood quest, many stars took the route of the small screen. And it turned out just well for them. Some of the biggest stars today come from such beginnings.

Ayushmann Khurrana
Reality show to the big screen, it's been some journey!
Ayushmann Khurrana made his Bollywood debut in 2012 with Shoojit Sircar's 'Vicky Donor'. A multi-talented man, Khurrana is also an anchor, singer, and VJ. He started off by winning the MTV Roadies season 2.
This got him the limelight after which he was a host on Colors TV in 'India's Got Talent'.
Once Khurrana broke into the industry there was no looking back.

Sushant Singh Rajput
Making bones in the industry takes time but it's high-reward
Sushant Singh Rajput is a well-known name in Bollywood.
However, before Rajput was doing big-budget movies, he was on the small screen acting in serials like 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil' and was the lead in 'Pavitra Rishta'.
He was also part of reality shows like 'Zara Nachke Dikha 2' and 'Jhalak Dikhla Ja 4' before landing 'Kai Po Che!' in 2013.
Irrfan Khan
From the small screen to Hollywood, a phenomenal journey
Few actors in the industry are as talented as Irrfan Khan. He doesn't just have a stronghold in Bollywood but has made his presence known in Hollywood as well.
However, he started off by acting in various shows including 'Chanakya', 'Bharat Ek Khoj', 'Chandrakanta' and a few more.
He then debuted with Mira Nair's critically-acclaimed film 'Salaam Bombay!' and never looked back.
Vidya Balan
Star of a brilliant television show to Bollywood's queen
Vidya Balan was a part of the acclaimed television show 'Hum Paanch'.
Balan then acted in a few television commercials and music videos, before finding her break in 'Parineeta' in 2003.
The star went on to act in several big films including thrillers like 'Kahani' and with her skills, she remains one of the most sought-after actresses of Bollywood.
Shah Rukh Khan
King of the hill, top of the heap
Of all the people that made it big in Bollywood from television-show careers, it doesn't get bigger than the badshah.
King Khan started off humbly acting in 'Fauji' and 'Circus', debuting in the former in 1989.
He had his Bollywood debut in 1992 with 'Deewana'.
Recognized equally for having played antagonists and romantic heroes, there's nothing the king can't do.
