'Avengers 4': 5 possible roles Katherine Langford could play
Katherine Langford, who plays Hannah Baker in Netflix's '13 Reasons Why', had filmed for the upcoming 'Avengers 4' movie, as reported earlier. Though nothing is certain before the official trailer drops, we know of a time jump from set photos. Further, Marvel announced its intentions to introduce new characters post 'Avengers 4'. With this in mind, we shortlisted a few roles Langford might play.
Messenger of Death, wields the scythe of mass damnation
In comics, Thanos goes on the universe destroying rampage to seek the attention of Death. Instead, the film showed him as a calculating mad God. However, they did tease the concept with Red Skull's appearance when Thanos sought the Soul Stone. 'Avengers 4' could see Langford play Death. Her youth and ability to portray warmth would be an interesting wrinkle in the feared character.
Step into the spotlight, Hawkeye
Hawkeye was one of the Avengers, mysteriously missing from 'Infinity War'. It has been rumored that Clint Barton will be getting a new costume in 'Avengers 4'. This suggests he will take the moniker of Ronin, which ties in with the 'Civil War' comics. With Hawkeye's role vacant, Langford could step in as Kate Bishop, who eventually takes up Hawkeye's mantle in the comics.
The hour of the witch
'Infinity War' saw the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange, disappear. In absence of Earth's protector against mystic threats, Wong, a fellow sorcerer, might train a new recruit, Clea. Dormammu's daughter, Clea, becomes Strange's partner and wife in comics. However, the film might show Langford play the new Sorcerer Supreme, and her connection to the Dark Dimension could help MCU explore cosmic spaces like never before.
Could Langford be a new villain?
Since 'Captain Marvel' is releasing before 'Avengers 4' one might assume that the Krees from her film will be shown secretly invading Earth. This refers to the 'Secret Invasion' comics where Krees replace several heroes. Queen Veranke infiltrated the Avengers as Spider-Woman. Perhaps, she will be the first female villain the Avengers fight. It would give Langford a chance to play a darker role.
Is Langford Eternal bound for Marvel?
Marvel's 2020's film will be based on Jack Kirby's Eternals. It will explore the relation between Ikaris, a man with cosmic energy and Sersi, a woman with the power of molecular rearrangement. Since Marvel would want to gradually establish Eternals in the cinematic universe, Langford might play Sersi in 'Avengers 4'. Her high cheekbones and dark hair make her physically similar to Kirby's conceptualization.
