Big B's respectful gesture towards Sridevi's untimely demise
Grief-stricken by Sridevi's premature demise, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor could not carry on with the shoot of their next movie titled '102 Not Out.' The actors were supposed to film a song called 'Badumba', but they decided to postpone it as a mark of respect to the legendary actress. Director Umesh Shukla confirmed the cancellation of the shoot.
Here's what the director told a news agency
"Yes as a mark of respect to the sudden and untimely demise of our legendary actress Sridevi, we decided to cancel our today's song shoot of '102 Not Out'. May God give peace to her soul and strength to her family," he said.
About '102 Not Out'
Touted as an unusual father-son love story, '102 Not Out' brings Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor together after 26 years. Big B plays a 102-year-old father to 75-year-old Rishi in the film. Based on playwright Saumya Joshi's Gujarati play of the same name, '102 Not Out' will release on May 4.
Sridevi passed away at 54
Bollywood's first female superstar breathed her last in Dubai on Saturday following a sudden cardiac arrest. She had gone there to attend Mohit Marwah's wedding. As per the latest update, Sridevi's mortal remains will be flown to Mumbai on a chartered plane. The funeral will take place in the afternoon in Pawan Hans crematorium, Vile Parle, Mumbai.
