Delhi: Large portion of road caves in at Janakpuri
A large portion of a road caved in on Wednesday in the Janakpuri area of the national capital Delhi, ANI reported. However, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far in the incident. The Delhi Police has put barricades around the collapsed portion of the road to prevent any untoward incident and let authorities repair it.

Soon after the incident, a series of videos and images began to circulate on social media platforms, especially Twitter. The videos show a gigantic hole in the middle of the road, with officers barricading it and a large crowd assembled at the scene. The Delhi Police also rushed its personnel to the spot to prevent any mishap.

Similar incidents in Delhi reported recently
This is not the first such incident in Delhi. In May, a portion of the road caved in at the Khureji Khas area, making a giant hole. A Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus carrying passengers got stuck in the hole. However, none of the commuters received injuries. On March 31, a road also caved in near Hauz Khas on Press Enclave road, disrupting traffic.

Rainfall likely to hamper traffic movement in Delhi
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, saying light to moderate rain may lash the national capital on Wednesday. The Safdarjung Observatory has issued a warning that rain might hamper traffic movement in parts of Delhi. According to the IMD, Delhi's minimum temperature is 27.8 degrees Celsius and its highest temperature is expected to be 35 degrees Celsius.
