    Delhi: Two held for forgery, running fake employment racket

    What's the story

    Two men allegedly involved in forging identity-cards of central government Ministries and running a fake employment racket have been arrested in Delhi.

    The accused, Uttam Kumar (41) and Sachit Kumar Rana (34), used to target unemployed youth from Delhi, UP, Rajasthan and dupe them of Rs. 5-7 lakh on the pretext of getting them government jobs, DCP (Special Cell), PS Kushwah, said.

    Rubber stamps of various Union Ministers recovered

    Kumar and Rana were involved in cheating youngsters on the pretext of providing employment in different Ministries/government departments including, the Railways, Ministry of Communications and IT, and Kendriya Vidhyalaya Sanghtan, Kushwah said. Rubber stamps of various Ministers and other departments were recovered from their possession.

    Kumar used to impersonate as a central govt officer

    The police were informed that Kumar, a resident of Delhi's Tilak Nagar, used to claim himself to be an officer of the central government; he also holds fake identity cards of the Ministries, the officer said.

    Subsequently, on June 30, Kumar and his associate Sachit Kumar, a resident of Shakarpur, were apprehended from Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi, he said.

    Seven fake service joining letters of Northern Railway seized

    Two fake identity cards in the name of Kumar shown to be issued by the central government and seven service joining letters of Northern Railway in the names of candidates were also recovered from them.

    During interrogation, the accused confessed that the recovered service joining letters were fake and they used to cheat innocent unemployed youth, a police official said.

    Rana, a computer expert, had prepared the fake letters.

    Kumar worked on a contract with a government agency for four years from 2003.

    He later worked as a field officer on contract with government offices like Akashwani Bhawan, Dak Bhawan, etc.

    This made him familiar with government agencies' paperwork and working.

    In 2017, he came in contact with some persons and started the racket.
