Noida: Teen killed as trio took joyrides in new car
A Class 12 student was killed and two of his friends gravely injured when their car hit a divider in Noida Sector-18 and toppled over multiple times. The mishap happened on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Influence of alcohol is suspected, but hasn't been confirmed yet. The deceased's father had bought the car only a couple of days ago.
What happened?
At 1:30am that night, Raghav Mehra, Rehan and Yavesh, Class 12 students of Indirapuram DPS, were returning from a party in Greater Noida. Near the Atta underpass, Raghav, who is believed to have been over-speeding, reportedly lost control and ran into a divider; the car was hurled in the air. They were rescued after about 15 minutes. The car was badly damaged.
Postmortem to reveal details about influence of alcohol
Locals then rushed them to the district hospital in Noida Sector-30, from where their parents moved them to a private hospital in Ghaziabad. Raghav died, but Rehan and Yavesh are said to be out of danger. Police say postmortem will reveal if they were drinking.
