Teen dies in Pragati Maidan tunnel, poor signal delays call
In a tragic incident, a 19-year-old bike rider lost his life due to a 15-minute delay in making an emergency call because of mobile network issues inside Delhi's Pragati Maidan tunnel on Monday night, reported News18. According to the police, the deceased, Rajan Rai, was returning from Uttar Pradesh's Meerut when he met with an accident inside the 1.3km-long tunnel.
Passersby couldn't make SOS calls due to poor signal
Following the accident, passersby tried to call emergency services but were unable to do so on time due to network connectivity problems. This caused a delay in the arrival of medical assistance. The police said Rai was rushed to the Lady Hardinge Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries despite receiving treatment. A purported video of his accident has also surfaced on social media.
