Gurugram: Snag in train flagged in time, 500-people escape tragedy
Some 500 lives were saved on Wednesday night when a technical snag in a Delhi-Rewari local train was noticed in time. Just when the train was about to reach Gurugram station, someone noticed sparks flying out from the rear wheel on the engine's right. The fault was repaired at the station and in 30 minutes, the train started rolling again.
One part of brake got loose, rubbed against wheels
A part of the brake had got loose, sliding down and rubbing against the wheels which caused sparks. Eventually the wheels got jammed and the train stopped at the Gurugram station around 9.45 PM. The fault was repaired by 10.20 PM. "Had there been a bigger fault, we would have arranged to send the passengers in the next train," said inspector Pawan Yadav, SHO.
