Noida: 6 criminals booked under Gangsters Act in GB Nagar
Six people were booked under the Gangsters Act on Tuesday in the Gautam Buddh Nagar of Noida for their alleged involvement in committing crimes in the district. The District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Brajesh Narain Singh, based on a report pressed charges under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, against the six persons, an official statement said. Proceedings under the Act against 150 gangs since May'17
The Act has been invoked against Rajneesh Kumar of Ghaziabad, Pankaj Kumar Singh, Pappu Singh, and Mohd Amamul Haq of Delhi, and Rajesh Bharadwaj and Jai Pal of Faridabad, the report said. From May 1, 2017, till September 30, 2018, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has initiated proceedings against 150 criminal gangs including 569 persons under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters Act, according to officials.
The District administration will block financial transactions of the gangsters
The administration of the district recently announced attaching properties and stopping financial transactions of all these gangsters in an unprecedented move to check crime, said officials. According to Section 14 of UP Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, if the District Magistrate has reasons to believe that any property has been acquired by a gangster, he may order attachment of such property.
