Passenger dies on board Delhi-Mumbai flight, family accuses airline
A passenger on board a Jet Airways flight from Delhi to Mumbai died of cardiac arrest. His family has accused the flight's crew of negligence. The 53-year-old passenger, Mohammad Afroz Ahmed, was travelling with his nephew. Alleging that the passenger was not given any medical assistance and oxygen supply, his family and co-passengers accused the crew of not making an emergency landing either.
Jet Airways denies family's allegations
Jet Airways has denied the allegations made by the family saying he was given proper care and was also examined by a doctor. But, one co-passenger said, "The passenger kept complaining about uneasiness and asked for oxygen which was not provided to him. By the time, an announcement for an onboard doctor was made, I had performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the passenger."
Crew immediately attended to the guest on board: Jet Airways
A statement by Jet said, "A guest on the Jet Airways flight 9W 376 from Delhi to Mumbai developed a medical condition on January 21, 2018. The crew immediately attended to the guest, who was also examined by a doctor travelling on the flight. " It further added, "Jet Airways crew undergoes extensive (first-aid) training and the crew on board followed all established protocols."
