R-Day: 22 Delhi Police personnel conferred medals for exemplary services
On the occasion of the 69th Republic Day, a total number of 22 Delhi Police personnel, including two women police officials received medals for their exemplary services. According to reports, while three officers have been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry, two got President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, and the others were given the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Ravinder Tyagi awarded for nabbing terrorist in Batla House encounter
Among the three personnel who were awarded the Police Medal For Gallantry, two of them are assistant commissioner Attar Singh and inspector Ravinder Kumar Tyagi, posted with the Special Cell. Tyagi played a key role in Delhi's Batla House encounter in 2008. Meanwhile, Additional Commissioner of Police Kamal Kant Vyas and ACP Surender Kumar Dahiya received the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Medals awarded for solving high-profile cases, restructuring EOW and more
The other officers to get awarded for their meritorious services are Additional CP K K Vyas, and DCPs Sanjay Bhatia, Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Asif Khan, Rajveer Chauhan and Varsha Sharma. "While Vyas was awarded for his contribution towards restructuring Economic Offences Wing, Bhatia got the award for his role in several high-profile cases like the Jessica Lal and Neetu Solanki murder case," said reports.
Officials who received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service
The other officials who were conferred with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service are DCPs Rajveer Singh Chauhan, Asif Mohd Ali, Sanjay Bhatia, Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Additional DCP Varsha Sharma, ACP Shashi Bala, inspectors Som Nath Paruthi, Sandeep Malhotra, Raj Kumar, Krishan Prakash, Suresh Maskeen,Assistant Sub-Inspector Jitender Dogra, head constables Kishan Chand, Dev Kumar, Subhash Kumar, Ranbir Singh and Satish Kumar.
