National lab certifies technology that can clear air at public-places
Amid an alarming rise in air pollution level in Delhi, a national laboratory today certified an air-purifying technology that can turn public spaces into clean air zones. This came just as Delhi's air quality turned "severe" today, the worst this season, as stubble burning in neighboring states intensified. Seventeen areas of Delhi recorded severe air quality, according to the Central Pollution Control Board data.
Technology can be installed in hospitals, schools, bus stands
The technology developed by Evergen Systems is being used at Delhi's Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib under a pilot project. Founder and CEO, Evergen Systems, Sukhbir Sidhu, said models using "Clean Air Zone" technology can be installed at hospitals, schools, and bus stands among other public places. The organization is also in talks with government agencies to plan the installation of the technology in other places.
Technology designed and constructed applying laws of fluid dynamics
The technology has been designed and constructed applying the laws of fluid dynamics to take control of air flow. The innovative technology utilizes a combination of atmospheric chemistry and airflow engineering. It is implemented through a proprietary dual purifier system combining nano-particles for removing 97-99% fine dust particles and a chemical media to remove gases like NOx, SOx, CO2, and ozone.
Efficiency of technology found to be over 90%: Certification authority
Commenting on the competence of the technology, Chief Secretary at the National Physical Laboratory, Shankar Agarwal, who certified it, said, the results collected from the aerodynamic particle size of PM1 and PM2.5 report the efficiency of the "Clean Air Zone" technology to be over 90%.
