Jagga Jasoos' actress found dead in Gurugram apartment
Assamese singer-actor Bidisha Bezbaruah, who was recently seen 'Jagga Jasoos', was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a dupatta tied around her neck in her Gurugram apartment. According to police, she committed suicide. But, they have arrested her husband, Nisheeth Jha, on charges of abetting Bezbaruah's suicide as her father accused him of having an extra-marital affair. Wrestler held for raping minor Kabaddi player
Delhi police arrested Naresh Dahiya, a wrestler, for allegedly raping a 17-year-old national level junior Kabaddi player in Model Town area. The player alleged that Dahiya took her to an unknown place and molested her. According to statistics, a rape case is reported every four hours. Last year, there were 2,155 rape cases. In 2017, the number of rape cases has already reached 930.
Govt to make Sarai Kale Khan Delhi's biggest transport hub
Delhi government is planning to give a makeover to existing bus terminal at Sarai Kale Khan by adding three high-speed trains connecting the airport to Gurugram, Ghaziabad, etc; a metro station connecting the entire Delhi; a railway station and an interstate bus terminal. It will be equipped with lifts, escalators, walkalators, foot overbridges and underpasses, bringing all modes of transport under one roof.
Data shows ozone pollution worsening in Delhi
Analysis of data from Delhi Pollution Control Committee by CSE experts revealed that ozone pollution has been worsening with the onset of summer in 2016 and 2017. Ozone is very harmful for health. It worsens asthma symptoms, damages lung tissues and causes its impairment, chest pain etc. "Increased heat wave and rising summer temperatures are worsening this trend," said Anumita Roychowdhury, CSE's executive director.
Cops arrest gang of mobile snatchers, 779 handsets recovered
Ghaziabad Crime branch raided Navyug Market and arrested gang of eight persons who bought stolen mobile phones and sold them after changing their IMEI numbers. 779 mobile phones were recovered from their possession along with laptop, IMEI changing equipment etc. "Our teams are working on such gangs. The idea is to eradicate such facilitators who change IMEIs of robbed and stolen mobiles," police said.
94% DU seats filled, colleges may not declare sixth cut-off
94% of seats have been filled at DU with the release of the fifth cut-off list and it seems popular colleges will not come up with six list. Admissions to 47,000 seats out of available 50,000 seats were confirmed by Monday end.
