Delhi: Pinjra Tod protests Miranda House's night curfew restrictions
Pinjra Tod, a students' collective, protested outside Delhi University's Miranda House College yesterday, demanding no curfew restrictions at night. Though the agitators acknowledged the "relaxations" notified by the college, they refused to let the administration have the power. This comes after Miranda House recently put up notices saying, "Night-out and short-notice/emergency night-outs can be availed by filling in a form at the gate."
Pinjra Tod earlier submitted a list of 21 demands
The notices further stated, "Residents can return to the hostel at any time of the night on a night-out and short-notice/emergency night-outs can be availed by filling in a form at the gate and (there) is no need (for) one-day advance notice." The current protest was launched days after Pinjra Tod submitted a list of 21 demands to the university Vice-Chancellor.
