Delhi-Metro: Janakpuri-Kalkaji Magenta Line to be operational from May 29
The 25.6km-long Janakpuri West-Kalkaji Mandir section of Delhi Metro's Magenta Line will be flagged off on May 28 by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The section comprises 16 stations and will be the longest opened so far in Delhi Metro's Phase 3. Passenger services will begin from May 29. Here's more on it.
Delhi Metro's corridor will expand to 278km
With the opening of this stretch, the entire 38.2km-long Janakpuri West-Botanical Garden Magenta corridor will become operational and Delhi Metro corridor will expand to 278km with 202 stations.
How Magenta Line is beneficial to Delhiites?
With this, the two new interchange facilities will come up at Janakpuri West (with the Dwarka-Noida/Vaishali Blue Line) and Hauz Khas (with the HUDA City Centre-Samaypur Badli Yellow line). Domestic terminals of Indira Gandhi International Airport will also get directly connected by the metro. Commuters traveling from Gurugram will now be able to change trains at Hauz Khas to reach south Delhi and Noida.
