Leopard scare grips outer Delhi residents; Forest Dept scans area
Residents of outer Delhi's Alipur were panic-stricken after some farm laborers there had claimed they spotted a leopard in the fields. After receiving the information, the Forest Department officials scanned the area. However, they found no pugmarks or remnants of animals the big cat may have preyed on. Police received several complaints from locals
Forest Department was alerted by the Delhi Police, which received several complaints from the scared Alipur residents that a leopard was hiding in their area. A villager claimed he saw the creature running across a field when he was working there. Reportedly, Delhi's territory does not have any leopards, but there have been instances of wild cats entering the region from neighbor states.
