January repeat: Lajpat Nagar flyover getting repaired, jams till May-30
What's the story
Delhiites, especially those who accessed the Lajpat Nagar flyover today, had a bad start, as they had to witness heavy traffic due to the ongoing repair work on the flyover.
The flyover stretch from Moolchand towards Ashram Chowk on Ring Road will remain closed till May 30, Delhi Traffic Police announced on Twitter.

People poured out their anguish over Twitter
Many commuters poured out their anguish on Twitter, while warning others not to hit the flyover.
In January, the flyover was closed for almost the whole month, as PWD was repairing a massive gap that had come up between two metal girders of the flyover.
Since metals expand during summers and shrink during winters, the binding materials fall through and the gap gets created.
Delays
Even the parallel RTR flyover is causing gridlocks
Not just the Lajpat Nagar flyover, even the tardy pace of work on the flyover parallel to the existing RTR flyover is causing huge traffic jams in Munirka.
The flyover was thought of as a solution when the 900-metre RTR flyover didn't help ease traffic congestion.
Notably, the deadline for the flyover has been revised five times; the current deadline is December 2018.
