Over 120 SpiceJet, IndiGo flights to ply from Delhi T2
Ending a four-month battle with Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), IndiGo and SpiceJet have agreed to shift their flight operations partially to Delhi Airport's revamped T2 (Terminal-2) from March 25. While SpiceJet will shift 22 flights, IndiGo will move as many as 102 flights to that terminal. GoAir complied with DIAL's order and shifted their entire operations to T2 back in October'17.

Why did IndiGo, SpiceJet have to shift operations?
DIAL had asked for the shifting since T1 is getting upgraded to accommodate more passengers. After its direction in October, IndiGo and SpiceJet approached Delhi HC citing passengers' inconvenience. SpiceJet complied after HC quashed its petition, but IndiGo took it to the Supreme Court and lost the case three weeks ago. T2, after renovation in 2017, can now handle 12 million passengers annually.

SpiceJet, IndiGo flight numbers to be of four digits
SpiceJet said that the flights operating from T2 will have a four-digit number starting with 8, to "facilitate smooth, uninterrupted operations and easier identification for passengers," reads the company statement. The private carrier has also made travel arrangements between T1 and T2. IndiGo has chosen the digit '2' for its flights. So all IndiGo flights from T2 will have four-digit numbers starting with 2.
What does this shift mean for passengers?
T2 will have fewer crowds for now, since all the airlines have not shifted their operations. This means more comfort and less inconvenience. However, note that the distance between T1 and T2 is almost 7-kms. So be careful and don't choose the wrong terminal!
