Gurugram shamed again! Another woman gangraped, second incident in 3-days
Five men have been arrested for abducting a woman from in front of the Sahara Mall in Gurugram and raping her in a southwest Delhi guesthouse Monday night. She managed to escape after hitting one of the accused with an iron rod, and then alerted cops. Among the five, two are drivers attached with a leading cab aggregator.
Accused offered her lift, she refused, then hell broke loose
The 30-year-old woman said she was waiting outside the mall around 11PM to board an autorickshaw after finishing her day's work. Just then, the five approached her in a car, offering her a lift. She refused. They then forcefully dragged her inside their car and drove till the Vasant Kunj guesthouse. Confined in a room, all of them took turns to rape her.
She managed to flee after hitting accused with rod
After the brutal act, the men locked her inside while one of them stayed on guard. Meanwhile, her cries were heard by the guesthouse cook, who opened the lock and released her. The accused on guard noticed her escape and tried to stop her. But she managed to hit him with a rod lying nearby. With the man incapacitated, she ran for her life.
Senior cop confirmed the incident, adding all have been arrested
She called one of her friends for help and the duo approached the Vasant Kunj police station around 4.30AM to lodge a complaint. A case was registered under IPC sections 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) and 376D (punishment for gang rape). DCP (southwest) Milind Dumbere, while confirming the incident, said all the accused have been arrested.
All five are from Haryana, but worked in Delhi
All the five criminals are from Haryana but stayed in Delhi to earn their living. They have been identified as Tejvir Singh, Gopal Prasad, Roopinder, Anshul and Ram Babu. Off late, Gurugram has witnessed a series of rapes. Just three days ago, a six-month-pregnant woman was gangraped by an auto driver and two of his friends. Doctors said the fetus is stable.
Not too long ago, a 19-year-old was raped by five
Earlier this month, a 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an autorickshaw driver and four others in Gurgaon's Sohna. The incident took place when the woman was waiting for a bus for Aligarh at Sohna tempo stand at 8pm. Seeing her alone, the accused approached her and offered to drop her in Gurugram, saying she was like his 'sister,' then gangraped her.
