Suspecting extra-marital affair, wife gets hubby killed in Gurugram
The Gurugram police have arrested a woman yesterday on charges of getting her husband murdered through contract killers for a sum of Rs. 16 lakh. Sweety suspected her husband to be having an extra-marital affair and feared that he would transfer his entire property, including a shop and a house in Sheetla Colony to another woman. The provoked her to plan the murder.
Singh has been missing from his residence since January 17
Sweety's husband Joginder Singh had gone missing from his residence on January 17. The police, however, found on Sunday a body stuffed inside a gunny bag, thrown into a drain at Bajghera near Dwarka Expressway. A motorcycle too was found near the drain, said police. The body was later identified as that of Singh's, following which the police began their investigation and questioning.
After sustained interrogation, Sweety confessed to committing the crime
The police posed numerous questions to Sweety, his family members, relatives, and the neighbors. Since Singh's brother suspected his sister-in-law behind the killing, the police began questioning Sweety during which she repeatedly changed her statements. On sustained interrogation, she, however, finally broke down and confessed to her role in the killing. In her confession, she also revealed her motive behind the crime.
Sweety hired six persons, including a woman, for the murder
Sweety told police that she was afraid of her husband's intention to transfer his entire property to his concubine, and because of this, she hired six persons, including a woman, from Ashok Vihar, Phase 3 to kill her husband. She promised to give them a sum of Rs. 16 lakh after the killing and gave them Rs. 2.5 lakh in advance, besides some jewelry.
Killers strangulated Singh to death, dumped body in drain
On the night intervening of January 16-17, Sweety let in the hired killers in her house when her husband was sleeping. The killers strangulated Singh to death in his sleep. They then stuffed his body in a gunny bag and carried it to the drain on their motorcycle and dumped the bag into it. The six hired killers are presently absconding, said police.
