Greater Noida tragedy: Truck rams into car, 3 kids dead
A tragic accident took place in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida late on Wednesday night when a speeding truck rammed into a car killing five and critically injuring another five. Among the deceased, three are children. Among the five injured, four are minors. The accident happened near Deri Maccha village, when the loaded truck hit the Wagon R around 12.30 AM on the GT Road.
Truck hit the Wagon R on one side, crushing it
The occupants of the car, all from the same family, were returning from Bhovapur village near Indirapuram in Ghaziabad to their native place at Badpura village, cops said. "They had come to Ghaziabad to attend the engagement of a nephew at Bhovapur," said Mukesh Kumar, SHO, Badalpur police station. He added that the truck hit the car on one side, crushing it.
Those who escaped death have sustained serious multiple injuries
"Five persons died on the spot while the injured were pulled out from the rubble of the car and rushed to a hospital for treatment," Kumar added. All the injured have apparently sustained grievous injuries, and are admitted in Sarvodaya Hospital, Ghaziabad. Three children aged 8, 12 and 6 years are dead along with two adults aged 38 and 26.
Truck driver absconding, cops trying to trace owner
The cops have seized the truck and are trying to trace its owner through the number plate that was found to be registered in Delhi. Meanwhile, the driver is on the run. An FIR has been lodged for rash driving, causing grievous hurt by acts endangering lives of others and causing death due to negligence.
