Delhi: Groom gets killed in his own wedding procession
Starting a new journey got brutally derailed for a 23-year-old, as a bullet shot during his own wedding procession mistakenly hit him at the back of the head, killing him on the spot. The procession was on the way to Faridabad from Kalandar Colony and had just left his Seemapuri house at 8 PM. The accused, identified as Aadil, is absconding.
Deepak had just finished some rituals when he was hit
Deepak Kumar was atop a mare and had just finished some rituals at home, when the procession started. Aadil, relative of Deepak's married sister, took out a gun and fired shots. One of the bullets accidentally hit the groom and he fell from his mare. "He was rushed to GTB hospital and around 2 am, he succumbed to his injuries," said a police officer.
Family suspecting neighbor's role in Deepak's death
While the body has been handed over after autopsy, DCP Shahadra confirmed that the hunt for the accused is on. The family is, however, suspecting that Deepak was murdered by a neighbor who opposed the marriage. Deepak worked as a helper at Anand Vihar inter state bus terminal and lived with his parents. Both his sisters are married, and one of them stayed nearby.
