Man threatens five eminent women calling them "anti-national"; case filed
After noted Kannada journalist Gauri Lankesh was shot dead, a Facebook user openly threatened to eliminate five prominent women, terming them "anti-national". The women mentioned in the open threat post include journalist Sagarika Ghose, authors Shobha De and Arundhati Roy, and activists Kavitha Krishnan and Shehla Rashid. Rana's Facebook post after Gauri Lankesh was gunned down

Ghose files complaint under the Information Technology Act
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Delhi) Anyesh Roy stated they registered an FIR against Rana after Sagarika Ghose filed a complaint. Ghose said she saw open threat posts on Facebook from Rana who had two accounts on the names "Vikram Aditya Rana and Vikramjb Rana"; he hails from Shillong. On the day Gauri Lankesh was shot dead, Rana praised her killers in a Facebook post.
DCP Anyesh Roy's statement
The police officer said: "We received some screenshots copies along with the complaint by Ghose and have asked Facebook officials about the details of Rana, related to his accounts and email ids to track him. His IP address is being traced."
