    What's the story

The DMRC is adamant to retain its metro station's name as "FIITJEE-IIT".

Earlier this month, HRD ministry had written to the Union Housing and Urban Affairs ministry (MoHUA) to intervene in the ongoing metro station naming row between IIT-Delhi and DMRC.

In response to MoHUA's query, DMRC maintained it has done nothing wrong as the naming is part of their advertising policy.

    Details

However, DMRC has asked FIITJEE to put a disclaimer

However, DMRC has asked the coaching institute to put a disclaimer that it's not associated with IIT-Delhi in any way.

"FIITJEE has since put a disclaimer on the metro station that they don't have any partnership with the engineering institute," DMRC chief Mangu Singh said.

In May, DMRC had named the metro station as "FIITJEE-IIT" that had offended the authorities of the premier institute.

    Decision

Butm DMRC will take final call after High Court's verdict

They had moved the HC protesting the same.

"Many parents, alumni, and aspirants are asking us whether we've tied up with the coaching institute, which is unacceptable," said V Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT-Delhi.

The Justice Rajiv Shakdher-led bench has asked DMRC to prepare a reply to IIT-Delhi's concerns by July 10.

Singh added based upon the court's decision, DMRC will take a final call.

    DMRC's policy

In last 4 years, 43 stations have been renamed

The station, caught amidst the fight, lies on the Magenta Line under the recently-opened Kalkaji Mandir-Janakpuri West corridor.

Under DMRC's co-branding policy, 43 stations have been put up for auction or renamed by sponsors, both private companies and PSUs since 2014.

For example: Honda 2-Wheelers-Vishwavidyalaya station and JK-Tyre-ITO station.

FIITJEE is one such sponsor, and so its name is emblazoned on the metro station.

    Information

These stations are set to be renamed soon

Another 14 stations that are to be renamed similarly include the ones at Terminal 1 of the airport, Greater Kailash, Okhla NSIC, Sukhdev Vihar and Panchsheel Park on Magenta Line, and Delhi Cantonment, Bhikaji Cama Place, Moti Bagh, INA and South Extension on Pink Line.
