Mother's Day celebration: Delhi Zoo to open dedicated breastfeeding room
In a unique way to celebrate Mother's Day on May 13, Delhi Zoo will open a room solely dedicated to breastfeeding mothers, as seen in airports. This comes after free perambulator service was started by National Zoological Park authorities in August'17. Both these steps were taken after the zoo got its first female director, Renu Singh, who's implementing ways to attract more woman visitors.
Last year, Delhi zoo celebrated birthdays of star-attraction Vijay, Rita
Since last year, the zoo authorities have also started celebrating birthdays of its inmates and organizing their naming ceremonies. They started with the white tiger Vijay, zoo's most popular attraction and kept its oldest member, Rita (57), a chimp, next in line. This was an attempt to bring back the crowd after the 2014 incident, where a youth was killed by a tiger in the zoo.
On Mother's day, take her out on a mom-date
Coming back to Mother's Day celebration, you can take your mom to Tastesutra, South Delhi's popular cooking school, where you can cook for her under a master-chef's guidance, while she'll be painting her way through kettles, tea-cups, etc. It would be heartening to take her out on a mom-date and make her feel what she means to you.
