    What's the story

A man wanted in 31 cases was arrested recently in West Delhi amidst much drama.

Clad in just a towel, Virender tried to escape from his house to evade arrest, but when he was finally captured and walked till the police-van, he was sans any clothing.

His family however claimed that he was paraded naked, an allegation that Delhi Police have vehemently denied.

    Details

In two videos, one can see the whole incident unfold

The whole incident was recorded by onlookers. In one video, Virender can be seen trying to balance himself on a window pane, while trying to flee from his two-storied building in Inderpuri.

A man, presumably a cop, is standing on the roof extending his hand to help him.

Another shows a naked Virender walking through a crowded market to reach the police van.

    Reasoning

Cops feared his alcohol-seller family might create chaos

Virender's wife Anjana claimed that she and her daughter ran behind them with his clothes, but cops didn't allow him to get dressed.

However, Deputy Chief commissioner (West) Vijay Kumar said that they offered Virender an innerwear, which he refused.

Moreover, he was hurriedly whisked away from the spot, as the cops feared his family, which is into alcohol business, might create chaos.

    Information

He was taking bath when cops reached, hence the towel

"A non-bailable warrant had been issued against him. We had been searching for him (since long) but couldn't find him," Delhi Police PRO Dependra Pathak said. Wanted for robbery and bootlegging, he was apparently taking a bath when a police team reached his house.
