    What's the story

    In a shocking incident, a Delhi teen aged 17 allegedly punched his two-month-old son to death, suspecting he wasn't the father of the child.

    The incident was reported on Saturday from Mangolpuri area. The 16-year-old mother came back to see her son, bruised and motionless.

    The couple got married 10 months ago and the accused thought his wife was having an affair.

    "A team led by ACP Aalap Patel Mansukh was formed to track down the teenager and he was apprehended from Mangolpuri. He admitted to have strangled the baby after thrashing him with a shoe," said Additional DCP, Rajender Singh Sagar.

    Couple fought over wife's 'loyalty' regularly

    Reportedly, the accused suspected his wife was having an affair with a colleague. The couple regularly fought over it.

    On the fateful evening, he returned home drunk, beat the boy and then strangled him to death.

    The baby was declared brought dead at the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. A case of murder has been registered against the accused.

    Wife worked as salesperson, husband was drug-addict

    The accused teenager and girl married in a temple, against the wishes of the latter's parents. They accepted the relationship after the girl conceived the baby.

    She worked as a salesperson at a cosmetic shop in Central Delhi and was the breadwinner of the family since the accused was a drug addict.

    The boy was apprehended twice for stealing mobile phones and laptops.
