Delhi: Man stabs girl for calling him 'abnormal'; arrested
A 22-year-old man, identified as Aman, was arrested by the Delhi Police after he allegedly stabbed a female student. The incident took place on Friday in broad daylight in Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar area, according to reports, citing police officials. Police said the accused was infuriated after the girl allegedly called him "abnormal." As revenge, Aman grabbed a knife from a vegetable stand and attacked the student, they added.
Assault caught on CCTV, footage viral
The tragic incident was recorded on CCTV, and the footage has since been shared extensively across social media platforms. One of the videos shows the accused man assaulting the girl while onlookers try to step in and catch him. Reports claimed that timely intervention by locals likely saved the girl from more severe harm. Aman told police that the girl was making fun of him regularly, which enraged him and led to the assault.

Student in stable condition
Fortunately, the girl survived and received only minor injuries. She was immediately shifted to a nearby medical facility for immediate care following the attack. Per the latest updates from police and hospital authorities, the victim is now safe and recuperating from her traumatic experience. Notably, the girl would regularly visit the area to study in a library. Meanwhile, a case under various Indian Penal Code sections has been registered against the accused.
Delhi man stabbed woman 50 times for avoiding him
In January, a similar case came to the fore in Delhi's Shakur Basti after police arrested a 21-year-old man for killing a woman. The man had allegedly stabbed the victim repeatedly for avoiding him despite being friends. The accused had called her to an isolated area on the pretext of a last meeting and stabbed her around 50 times. The police said the body was found lying near railway tracks in Shakur Basti on January 25.
