Delhi: Police arrest two drug peddlers; recover 790kg marijuana
Delhi Police crime branch cops have arrested two drug peddlers, Jagdish Kumar Arya and Saroj Subuddhi, and recovered Rs.54L-worth marijuana weighing almost 790kgs. After receiving a tip-off about the drug racket, a special task force nabbed Jagdish from ITO and Saroj from New Delhi Railway station. Accused smuggled drugs on Rajdhani Express
Jagdish, a driver by profession, was apprehended with 548kg marijuana in his tempo near ITO. During interrogation, he revealed about another consignment arriving from Bhubaneswar in Orissa. The cops then raided New Delhi railway station and caught Saroj with 242 kg of marijuana in six cartons. The duo would usually smuggle drugs into Delhi from Bhubaneswar on Rajdhani Express.
Jagdish, Saroj have two more associates
During interrogation, Saroj told police they had two more associates named Anil and Sarvan. Saroj said Sarvan, a tenant in his building, allegedly introduced him to drug peddling. He added both of them began procuring drugs from Bhubaneswar and brought them to Delhi. They initially smuggled drugs by car, but later met Anil who helped them do the same through railways.
