Two depots identified for accommodation and charging of buses
According to reports, two bus depots have been identified for the accommodation of these buses that will provide them with charging facilities. The reason behind choosing these locations was the availability of sufficient power supply," said an official.
All CNG buses will be replaced with electric buses: Officials
On a single charge, an electric bus can cover at least 250 kms. According to officials, even though an electric bus is much costlier than an airconditioned and low-floor CNG bus, the cost of maintenance for an electric bus is comparatively lower than a CNG bus. As per reports, all CNG buses will eventually be replaced with electric buses as they are more environment-friendly.
