Delhi murder: Knife used by Sahil to kill Sakshi recovered
The knife used by Sahil, the accused in the murder of 16-year-old Sakshi in Delhi's Shahbad Dairy neighborhood on Sunday, has been found by the Delhi Police. A senior police officer also revealed that Sahil's police custody was extended for three more days on Thursday by the court. The weapon was reportedly recovered after the accused was questioned again.
Victim's friends questioned by cops
The 20-year-old accused was cross-questioned as he kept changing his statements frequently, a police official stated. Meanwhile, three of Sakshi's friends, Ajay alias Jhabru, Neetu, and Bhawna, were interrogated individually, and their versions corroborated. According to the news agency PTI, the route taken by the 20-year-old accused while fleeing the crime scene has also been established.
Delhi Police also seized Sahil's phone
Besides recovering and seizing the knife used for the murder, the police have also seized Sahil's mobile phone. Furthermore, eight individuals seen in the CCTV footage were identified, and their statements have been recorded. The Delhi Police also revealed that they were also scanning the CCTV footage on the entire route stretching from Rithala to Bulandshahr via Anand Vihar.
Sahil addicted to charas and ganja: Police
Earlier, the police alleged that Sahil was addicted to drugs like charas and ganja. They further stated that the accused enjoyed smoking marijuana in the hookah and frequently drank alcohol before going on motorbike rides. Reportedly, Sahil used to pick fights, and his behavior was a primary reason behind his family shifting to Delhi's Jain Colony two years ago.
Shocking details of Sakshi murder case
On Sunday, the accused allegedly waited in the lane where one of the victim's friends lived, according to the police. The 20-year-old accused then reportedly approached Sakshi as she appeared from a public toilet and stabbed her multiple times with a knife before beating her with a stone slab. The police also revealed that Sahil planned to murder Sakshi for three days.
