    What's the story

In a rather disturbing revelation, Delhi Police on Monday found a body, having injury marks in the neck and stuffed in a sack near Haiderpur Canal in Rohini.

Upon identification, it was revealed that it's of a 15-year-old boy who had gone missing from North Delhi's Jahangirpuri area on August 26 (Sunday).

No one has been nabbed yet, said cops.

    Incident

Boy went missing when he had gone out

The boy had gone missing when he went to buy something from a nearby shop around 10:30PM.

When he didn't return, his mother, who stays with her brother after divorcing her husband a decade ago, lodged a missing complaint with the police.

A case was registered and search ensued. A day later, the body was found on the roadside running parallel to the canal.

Killer might have had beef with victim: DCP

DCP (North-West) Aslam Khan said the body couldn't be identified for two days until the boy's family recognized the red shirt he wore at the time he had left his home.

Since the autopsy report is awaited, it cannot be ascertained whether he was sexually assaulted.

But the boy was probably killed by someone having personal enmity with him, said Khan.

"Appeared to be strangulated. His limbs were tied"

"The boy appeared to be strangulated. His limbs were tied. We registered a murder case and shared the details with the other police stations in Delhi. That led to him being identified," said Rajneesh Gupta, DCP (Rohini), adding his father stays in Madhya Pradesh currently.
