Man, killed by head injury, lay in DMRC-tunnel for 7-months
A man, whose decomposed body was found inside a Delhi Metro tunnel in February this year, had died due to head injuries, his autopsy report has found, complicating the case further. It also revealed that the body was lying there for seven months. The medical examination of the body took a month as it was 'highly decomposed,' Delhi Police said.
DNA samples preserved, foul play angle being probed too
"The report has revealed head injury but that could also be due to the fall from a shaft, which is as high as a four-storey building," said an investigating officer. He added that they need someone to identify the body so that the sequence of events can be established. Cops have preserved his DNA samples as they have not yet ruled out foul play.
Might be vagabond, body wrapped in rugs: Cops
Describing him, the cops said he might be a vagabond since the body was wrapped in rugs. The body was found in a restricted tunnel on the 22.7km New Delhi-Dwarka airport line that is mostly underground, with tunnels as deep as 18m. Staff enters the tunnels through the gates at the end of the platforms, the keys of which remain with the station controller.
