Delhi man kills wife and baby in front of sons
A Delhi based man allegedly killed his wife and 18-month-old son in front of his two other sons in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri area, said police. According to the police, the woman, Sunita, 30 and her infant son were attacked with a blunt object multiple times by Om Prakash Kumar, the husband in front of the couple's two other minor sons. Here are the details.
The man spent the night with corpses: Police
Police said that the man killed the two after he suspected his wife's faithfulness and doubted whether the youngest son was his child. No arrests have been made so far, as the husband is absconding. After committing the crime, he spent the night with the corpses and his other two sons at his home before leaving his residence on Tuesday morning.
Suspect didn't harm his other sons: police official
The two minor sons were awake when the father hit the toddler with a hammer and their baby brother bled to death. A police official said the suspect didn't harm his other two sons. The officer said, "The six-year-old boy told us that he was afraid, turned his head, and fell asleep. The other child is too young to describe what happened."
Wife's family suspect in-laws' involvement in the murder
After the incident came to light, the woman's family suspected the involvement of the husband's family. Kumar and Shobha have married 13 years ago and the couple kept quarreling often, said police. Deputy commissioner of police (northwest) Aslam Khan said that earlier in 2010, the woman had filed a case of domestic violence and dowry harassment against the husband.
